I don’t quibble with the assertion that veterans - including McCain - deserve medical care; I spent 20 years in the Army myself. I can tell you that US senators do NOT go to VA hospitals for care. Their concern for veterans and their medical care is like their support for the repeal of Obamacare, i.e., for public consumption only and primarily at election time.
Nor do I. I hope that's not the sentiment I conveyed. I'm somewhat troubled by the suggestion that veterans deserve better care than non-veterans.
If McCain hadn't been a vet, would those same people say, "Sorry, Charlie. Doctor says you gonna die. Shoulda been a veteran. Sucks to be you."?
