They’re making it sound like a hardworking, idealistic FBI “SEIZED” the hard-drives:
It sounds so responsible, right..?
Naw, we caught a lucky break, it was patriotic military people that put 2 and 2 together and smelled a rat with all the semi-smashed hard-drives in the garage of the home they rented from shady Pakistanis.
It was CITIZENS a lot like us that got us this super lucky break.
FBI is throwing around BS verbiage like “seized”, it’s ridiculous.
Freakin’ JOE SIX PACK handed the FBI this stuff on a silver platter.
I got a feeling that the “veteran” renter may be FBI and renting was his assignment.
Just sounded alarms when I heard how the hard drives were did discovered
You assume that all of the FBI folks are on the level?
Why do you think all of this is playing out as it is, you have to let everyone make their move so you can catch the whole chain

Your post reminded me of something from years ago. A Maryland State Trooper friend of mine heard an APB for a vehicle leaving from a bank robbery. He spotted the vehicle, pulled it over and apprehended/cuffed the two robbers and held them there. About 20 minutes after he called it in to dispatch, several speeding cars filled with FBI agents arrived with their lights flashing and sirens blaring. My friend then turned custody of his detainees over to the FBI agents. The next day the local papers had the story of how “FBI agents arrested the fleeing bank robbers”...no mention of the State Trooper’s actions.
The FBI’s public relations expertise exceeds their investigative expertise.
Right on gaijin

You would be amazed how much credit is given to certain groups which info came from citizens doing the right thing. Yeah, we seized it, from those giving it to us. What a joke.
