Something like that would be easy enough to verify. The office of the special counsel is typically not going to be quoted on these matters -- for fear of compromising a possible criminal prosecution. The article claims that requests for information have been sent to banks and lenders. Which banks? Which lenders? How about a copy of a subpoena? The special counsel is precluded from discussing the matter, but nothing prevents a bank that received a request for information from sending a copy of a letter or subpoena to Bloomberg News. The absence of such information makes me very suspicious about the accuracy of the report.
Thanks for the informative post Ray. A sale of a house 8 YEARS before the election. Who cares who he sold it to?
Remember that Sekulow is a lawyer on Trump’s team, but his main function is to be a P.R. guy who gets face time on TV to undermine Mueller and the investigation. Remember also that we saw the same nonsense from the Clinton team back in the 1990s when he was about to be impeached. There were all kinds of stories in the news about alleged misconduct by Ken Starr’s team, and we learned later that these stories were totally false and were only put out there in the media by Clinton flacks to discredit Ken Starr.
“Mission Creep” That’s a pretty apt description of the current Robert Mueller himself. With the emphasis on CREEP! IMHO.
So Sekulow is lying? He is making false statements to undermine Mueller?
Mueller is not investigating the 2008 sale?
Produce something to back it up.
If he refused to sell it because the buyer was Russian he might have run afoul of fair housing laws and regs.
A picture of three corrupted reprobates sharing a laugh,
Foot soldiers for that spirit of anti-Christ rising up for the last days and becoming visible even to non believers,
That fly infested Obama creature is full on demonic, given over to an unclean spirit,
Sekulow is responding to a media report that has no substance to it. He’s not lying because he’s accepting it as true, but that doesn’t mean he’s verifying the truth of the story. As Trump’s lawyer, Sekulow isn’t going to know much beyond what Trump himself has received from the special counsel in the form of a subpoena or an information request, and I suspect Trump has received nothing of the sort.
Could this be a play on words from Shakespeare's Julius Ceasar? "And Brutus is an honourable man!"
P.S. — I can’t prove a negative. All I’m suggesting is that the evidence behind these media reports is very thin at best. Like I said before ... how do you run a story about banks getting requests for information like this without naming the ‘effing banks? LOL.
