Amazing how some people so easily surrender the freedom and liberty that previous generations bought for them with blood and sacrifice.

And all it took to make them give up their birthright was to convince them that bowing to the police state is a form of patriotism.

They would have made wonderful citizens of the Soviet state.

Agreed. Statists who think they are "conservative" are still statists. We extend great power to police, so they should expect oversight.
One can be very pro-police while simultaneously insisting they conduct themselves with courtesy, professionalism, decency, and respect.
