Trump Floats Possibility Of Giuliani Replacing Sessions As AG

President Trump has floated the possibility of replacing Attorney General Jeff Sessions with his steadfast ally Rudy Giuliani to serve in the top Justice Department post, Axios reported Monday.

Trump broached the idea in internal discussions about bringing in and surrounding himself with staunch supporters, sources within the West Wing told the news outlet.

Before The New York Times interview last week, Trump had already expressed anger and frustration at Sessions for recusing himself from the Russia investigation, Axios reports.

Trump, during the interview, opined that Sessions' decision to recuse himself was "unfair" to him and he would've likely picked another person to lead the Justice Department if he had known this is the move Sessions would make.

In a tweet on Monday, Trump went after Sessions, calling him “beleaguered” and questioned why the attorney general and federal investigators are not looking into Hillary Clinton for her “crimes” and ties to Russia.

Spoken like a true twit who doesn’t give a damn about this country.

You know what a twit is?

Someone who goes around questioning others' patriotism when they don't know who the Hell they're talking to.

Call people names all you want. Don't question Peoples' patriotism without a damn good reason. There's nothing more ignorant, or shameful...

I made no specific mention of Paula White, Lil Flower. There are many many evangelical pastors who love our President and recognize he is God’s Anointed.

How is what I said a smear? A lot of people are angry that he recused himself, and it has been compared to the fact that Holder nor Lynch never did. That’s pretty much saying he should have acted like them. So you want Sessions to be unethical like them for Trump. It’s ok as long as it’s for your guy.

Even if he didn’t let Trump no ahead of time, that is not unethical, it just wasn’t courteous. And I don’t know for sure that he didn’t, but either way, you can’t be unethical by trying to be ethical, that makes no sense.

Regardless of all of this and who it’s about, I’m sick of the childish tantrums on Twitter. He’s the President of the United States, not a damn Kardashian. He needs to start acting like it.

No but she was there, at his “anointing.” And it’s common knowledge she’s his spiritual advisor.

That’s what a twit is? I had no idea.

And just “who the hell am I talking to?” Are you so special that I can’t disagree with you?

Not so crazy... He was onsite at one political decapitation and would have been president if Reagan was killed. Both assasinations were run by either CIA or unstable or compromised CIA influenced people... Oswald was photo'd with known CIA operatives including Rafael Cruz.

That’s pretty much saying he should have acted like them. So you want Sessions to be unethical like them for Trump.

It's a qualitatively different situation. Holder and Lynch were involved in actual shadiness.

With Sessions, the whole Russia thing was totally phony, and his recusal made it look 10x more real than it was.

Especially in the environment that was clearly prevailing, Sessions should never have recused himself without consulting the President first.

This is a coup attempt, and against that backdrop, Jeff Sessions had no business making such a decision unilaterally, especially since it was all so phony.

I really have to agree with the President on at least that one point.

I don't know what else is going on between them, but it's painfully obvious that the President—whether he's right or wrong—feels he has been betrayed by his AG on one or more levels.

I'm just gobsmacked at this latest development. I'm going to withhold judgement on the bigger picture—with respect to both men—until I learn more, but this is a major conflagration between two friends. I don't think it could be based on anything trivial.

And, to be clear: if this reporting is true, Jeff Sessions must promptly resign. If he doesn't, then it reveals a major flaw in his own character...

That’s true. Even paid, trained, Gov’t online trolls are entitled to their opinions.

So what. Shall we wait for the perfect person to come along, or will we realize that God uses imperfect men with good hearts to do His Will. And only God knows our hearts. Deal with it.

You can disagree with me all you want, until the cows come home.

But don't question my patriotism.

You don't go around questioning someone's patriotism simply because you disagree with them or don't like something they said. Period. End of story.

If what reporting is true? I’m not sure what you reporting you’re talking about.

You’re right in that Russia is a nothing burger. But the Senate was going to investigate anyway. Based on the ethics rules of the DOJ, he was advised to recuse himself and he agreed. Now you can argue he should have told the President before he did it, I don’t know if he did or didn’t, I know that’s what’s reported, but he would have recused himself anyway. What I’m asking myself is why is he so mad about it now? This didn’t happen a week ago.

Also, Rosenstein was given the #2 position by Trump, not Sessions. Everyone keeps forgetting that. Sessions asked for his resignation. Trump refused to accept it and then promoted him. He is the one who appointed a special prosecutor, not Sessions. Why isn’t Trump upset with him? Better yet, that’s on Trump, because he made a bad decision by keeping him in the first place. Rosenstein would be gone if he had listened to Sessions.

Now Trump is on Twitter acting like who is this guy Rosenstein. Give me a break? Even you can see that’s a lot of horse crap!

I actually think Sessions should resign too, just not for the same reasons. I’d be damned if I’d be treated like this after all I had done to help him get elected and then have him treat me like this. I’d walk my ass right out of there. And don’t say he didn’t have a lot to do with it, he did. Sessions set up his immigration policy. And recall his immigration stance is what catapulted him to the front of the Republican ticket. Also recall his first big rally was in Mobile, where Sessions is from. I happen to be from there as well. I cannot overstate how well thought of Sessions is in South Alabama,I mean his last run for Senate was unopposed, and that had a lot to do with why that rally was so huge, and that was the first rally Sessions was at. If I remember correctly it was the first rally any sitting Republican was at.

But after what Trump has done on Twitter, yeah I’d definitely resign. Even though I’m very unhappy about the Asset Forfeiture Laws, I have a feeling when he’s gone we’ll all end up regretting it, just like we’re going to regret the antisemite Tillerson.

Deal with it? Well I am dealing with it. And of course he uses imperfect men and women that’s all he has to work with, there are no perfect people.

I’ve got a secret for you. He uses evil people to do His will too.

I can state my opinion as I chose. I mentioned a Cult of Personality. Some people get more caught up in a man, a party, than the country. What is happening right now in my “opinion” is more people care about Trump than the country. And it happens whether there is a Democrat or Republican in office. It happened with Democrats when Obama was in office and it’s happening again with Trump. He is not God. He makes mistakes. The Twitter crap is a huge mistake. But a lot of people on here, and you have been one of them, get the vapors when it is pointed out.

I foolishly made the same mistake when Bush first got into office. All the crap with people trying to steal the election for Gore, it was crazy on here, if you were here when that was happening. Then 9/11. I got caught up in it and was damn near worshipping the man. He could do no wrong. Good people on here who weren’t so foolish started sounding the alarm bells when the Patriot Act first came about. I was too caught up in his greatest and how much he loved this country to see it. It wasn’t until the very end of his presidency that I began to wake up, and I swore I wouldn’t do it again.

And damn if I didn’t do it again with Trey Gowdy. How’s that worked out. Very charismatic, hasn’t got a damn thing done. The good ones always are. So again I’m just not trusting anybody. I’m even upset with Sessions because of the Asset Forfeiture Laws. Nobody is perfect. Power corrupts, period.

Country first. Constitution. Bill of Rights. All politicians are out for themselves. They may start out with good intentions, but sooner or later, they get corrupted.

He needs to stay off Twitter, push for repeal of Obamacare not replace it, build the wall, start deporting criminals, that includes fence jumpers, they are lawbreakers if they are here illegally, that will be a good start. Then we can move to abolishing the IRS.
