Trump Floats Possibility Of Giuliani Replacing Sessions As AG

President Trump has floated the possibility of replacing Attorney General Jeff Sessions with his steadfast ally Rudy Giuliani to serve in the top Justice Department post, Axios reported Monday.

Trump broached the idea in internal discussions about bringing in and surrounding himself with staunch supporters, sources within the West Wing told the news outlet.

Before The New York Times interview last week, Trump had already expressed anger and frustration at Sessions for recusing himself from the Russia investigation, Axios reports.

Trump, during the interview, opined that Sessions' decision to recuse himself was "unfair" to him and he would've likely picked another person to lead the Justice Department if he had known this is the move Sessions would make.

In a tweet on Monday, Trump went after Sessions, calling him “beleaguered” and questioned why the attorney general and federal investigators are not looking into Hillary Clinton for her “crimes” and ties to Russia.

“I don’t want to hurt the Clintons, I really don’t,” Trump said. “She went through a lot and suffered greatly in many different ways, and I am not looking to hurt them at all. The campaign was vicious.”

When asked what he would say to his disappointed supporters, he said: “I think I will explain it that we in many ways will save our country.”

Giuliani is an amnesty supporter.

If Giuliani ran for office anywhere in America other than NYC, he would probably have to run as a Democrat. In spite of this, many people on this thread seem to believe that replacing a solid conservative who believes in national borders with one of the most liberal figures in the Republican Party is a great idea.

***Guys like that pompous Tucker Carlson that say Trump should not be calling out Sessions for his BS are clueless.***

He’s pompous for thinking a President shouldn’t be running the Office from Twitter? Are you serious?

WTH is wrong with you people!?! He is the President! He should not be conducting buisness from Twitter, or Facebook, pick your poison. “Calling out Sessions” or any other member of his Cabinet on Twitter is outrageous and grossly immature!

The fact that so many of you do not see the error or pettiness of this, or how it makes the Office of the Presidency look not just to us but the world, is beyond me. And you all can vote! Jesus Christ!

It truly doesn’t matter if it’s Democrat or Republican the Cult of Personality is dangerous as hell. A sheep is a sheep, regardless of who the Shepard is.

***U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions is asking for the resignations of 46 United States attorneys who were appointed during prior presidential administrations, the Justice Department said Friday.

Many of the federal prosecutors who were nominated by former president Barack Obama have already left their positions, but the 46 who have remained in the first weeks of the Trump administration have been asked to leave “in order to ensure a uniform transition,” Justice Department spokeswoman Sarah Isgur Flores said in a statement e-mailed to USA TODAY.
“Until the new U.S. attorneys are confirmed, the dedicated career prosecutors in our U.S. attorney’s offices will continue the great work of the department in investigating, prosecuting and deterring the most violent offenders,” she said in the statement.
In another statement e-mailed to USA TODAY, Justice Department spokesman Peter Carr said President Trump telephoned U.S. attorneys Dana Boente of the Eastern District of Virginia and Rod Rosenstein to say “that he has declined to accept their resignation, and they will remain in their current positions.”***

How quickly we forget. Sessions DID ask for the resignations of ALL 46 Obama appointed attorneys.

Who decided Rod Rosenstein should stay? Oh that’s right, it was President Trump! And who is complaining about him now? Guess he should have taken that resignation after all. Now Trump and many of you want to blame Sessions for Rosenstein still being there when that lies solely at the feet of the President.

You’re welcome.

***While lynch and Holder never once considered it when they both spit on the Constitution***

So is that what you wanted out of Sessions, to be like Holder and Lynch and spit on the Constitution?

You know what, yeah I think you did. Based on everything I’m reading, I think a lot of you would have been just fine with that as long as it’s “your guy” doing it for Trump. I mean, he recused himself because he thought it was the ethical thing to do. How dare he be ethical! He should have been like Holder and Lynch and not give a damn about his integrity and morals and just done whatever the hell he wanted as long as Trump and you all were happy.

He didn’t plead guilty by recusing himself. He did what he thought was ethical based on how he and the ethics committee interpreted the regulations on ethics. Everybody screamed for 8 years how sick we were of that unethical bastard Holder and Lynch and now you same people are mad because there is finally someone who is ethical in that office who refuses to act like Holder and Lynch.

It’s the freakin Twilight Zone around here.

Yeah, it was real "ethical" of Sessions to not consult—or even notify—the President who appointed him regarding his recusal. Blindsiding is quite ethical.

And it was equally ethical for Jeff Sessions to not disclose his meeting with the Russian ambassador on his security form. It must have just "slipped his mind".

So is that what you wanted out of Sessions, to be like Holder and Lynch and spit on the Constitution?

You know what, yeah I think you did.

Such smears say a lot about who's really in the Twilight Zone...

***You’d never know that we hold the WH, Senate and Congress - Your boy cut us off at the knees. He opened the gate and hauled the wooden horse inside...***

That is not Sessions fault! That is the fault of the President and Congress and the Senate! We wanted Ryan GONE! He was on his way out. Who propped him up? Trump did! He keeps trusting the wrong damn Republicans! Who got on Twitter bad mouthing the Freedom Caucus? Oh that’s right, the King of Twitter did! Who won’t put up the 2015 health Care bill that passed overwhelmingly? Ryan! Who’s running the shit show in the Senate? McConnell and Lindsey and McCain. None of that is Sessions fault.

Where’s that damn fence that was supposed to start in “about 4 months.” I distinctly remember hearing that from McAllen, Tx.

“Sessions “made the right decision under the rules of the Justice Department” in recusing himself from the investigation, Giuliani told CNN on Monday after landing at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.”

“Trump’s advisers have also explained to him — amid his fury about Sessions — that anyone who was part of his campaign, including Giuliani, would likely face pressure to recuse themselves from the Russia investigation, according to Trump advisers and officials.”

Guess that’s the difference from being an Attorney and a Buisnessman.

Oops. Guess y’all will have to start throwing him under the bus now, too.

I wonder what will be tweeted about him.

Wow. That’s what you see? A man too cowardly to look Sessions in the eye and speak to him face to face like a man? Who instead gets on Twitter and acts like a passive-aggresive twit? We have very different ideas of what a man is.

May I ask, are you male or female?

I’ll bet they DID have a face to face, & Sessions wimped out, saying wuss words to the effect of he’s above it all.

Sessions is a SNAKE.

Here our President is fighting against the worst most evil scum ever to occupy positions in gov’t, and his AG, who should be helping him drain the swamp, chooses rather to go after mj dealers. He wouldn’t even go after Comey for leaking.

SESSIONS IS A SNAKE no better than Obama, Clinton, or McCain. I hold him in utter contempt. Vile and disgusting. I now have the impression that Sessions believes those in gov’t are above it all, except his boss, who he has thrown to the wolves.

I have no doubt many non-Christians look at Snake Sessions and think “Man, if this is what a Christian looks like, I want no parts of it”.
