Confine CIA to an intelligence mission only, and cut it by 40%. Take the “covert operations” mission out of CIA and give that to a DOD Special Operations Command along with the billets and dollars.
I’ll believe the CIA has “disassociated from the rebels” when the facts on the ground support that statement. The Trump administration should make SURE that any support IN THE PIPELINE is pulled NOW and doesn’t continue to flow. Pull all local supplies & funds NOW.

Truman founded the CIA!
Shortly, after JFK was killed, he wanted to limit the CIA to Intel collection.
HST founded the CIA, and he realized his creation had become something he didn’t want and became what and why he ended the OSS after WWII was over.

So, a simple ExO by Trump reversing/destroying Truman’s ExO to end the OSS and to start the CIA, can eliminate the CIA.

I had a family member who worked for the OSS. She lived in Kerns, TX many years.
There is a great biography of Donovan written by Anthony Brown. (a great English military historian) I bought that book just after it was published.

I’m no Haley fan. Certainly not a McCain fan. Despise the product(Great Human suffering, misery and death) of our intervention in Syria during the Obama Era.
I do have close friend in Syria. Syrian Kurds are not like the Islamists, Jihadi’s and others.
All those who have experienced genocide under Turkey and the Ottoman Empire deserve a chance for freedom and a good life. (Kurds, Ezidi’s, Alevi’s, Greeks, Jews, Assyrian Christians, Chaldean Christians) Especially those who currently fight bravely to end ISIS.
There is a demonstrated willingness for Kurd, Arab, Christian, and some non believers to coexist and cooperate to build a better life in Syria. They don’t like living under Assad (with cause) but they know they need Syria largely intact to survive the neighbors.
The two flies in the ointment? Iran(Assad is coupled with Iran) and Turkey.
