The shadows in that picture inform me that the two subjects are not aligned on the horizontal axis.
They tell me the sunlight is coming over my right shoulder.
Why would a professional photographer not center the subject in the frame and have the most dramatic angle possible?
It would be nice if we knew where the photo was taken, and had the photo the photographer took to clear up any questions...
