At this point the death penalty for drug dealers seems like what it will take.

Now if the BP, ICE, FBI & DEA, would just get the same orders from Pres Trump.

Beat me to it. Looks like Duterte is rubbing off on people. Maybe Mexico should consider it, too.

Civilization will not be recovered until this is done in a number of spheres. The death toll will actually be higher without such action, when the house of cards collapses.

"...Widodo has instructed law enforcement officers to shoot drug traffickers to deal with a narcotics emergency facing the country."

Thereby eliminating whatever expenses that normally would occur, saving the 'state' money.

It’s a bit surprising that Indonesia has such a big drug problem given that it’s a Muslim country and they don’t take kindly to either pushers or users.

It's happening all over the world.

Some places slower than others and some places using different "bullets", but the fact remains;

There's a whole BUNCH'A people that are mad as hell and ain't gonn'a take it any more.

And THAT'S the message to the world from 2017.

We are in the beginning of a Renaissance.

People in the West which has embraced or tolerated the decadence and hedonistic cultural decline associated with drug use, find the harsh actions of Asian leaders (in Singapore, China, now Indonesia and the Philippines)distasteful and intolerant. Yet those leaders are more concerned about preserving their culture, their heritage and maintaining a livable society,than the opinion of the chattering classes.

...and if we would start caning drug dealers and pushers, we would have an effective deterrent.
