And they’ll legalize pot, so they can buy it and be stoned all day.

He needs to take his income and share it with the rest of us.

This clown wants to redistribute our wealth around the world. They get wealthier and we get poorer. We earn it. They get it for nothing.

If you’re able-bodied and don’t work, you don’t eat. The problem takes care of itself.

But he says this is a great idea if the guaranteed universal basic income replaces all welfare, all food stamps.

Yeah, that will work for about five minutes - then the basic income alone will suddenly become "unfairly balancing the budget on the back of our most vulnerable citizens" and a whole raft of new welfare programs will come sailing in. We've heard this song and dance before.

"Left Adances"

Was it a slow dance, or like a disco dance.. or maybe some tap?

I disapprove of “universal basic income” but I also disapprove of welfare as currently implemented. If we can eliminate ALL other welfare and make this “universal basic income” a bare subsistence income, then it would be an improvement over what we have today.

I’m not even being thrifty about this; I’m being compassionate and Christian. It is destructive and evil to lure people into generations of welfare dependence. Just about all Klan members, if they understood welfare and what it is doing to minority families, would celebrate what today’s democrats have done with SNAP and the rest of their programs, as they celebrated what yesterday’s democrats did with Jim Crow and with slavery before that.

The difference between seeing government welfare as something owed to you and accepting private charity only because you need it to get through a rough patch is huge. I feel sorry for the hopeless kids raised in families that think welfare is okay.

If the elites are so keenly aware of the economic displacement caused by automation, why are they so eager to bring millions of unskilled workers into the country?

Can you imagine how many will storm the borders of Western countries offering UBI?

let’s start with the total ‘redistribution ‘ of Zuckerberg’s dough . Every penny of it . AND his property on Kauai . He doesn’t need all that stuff .

Stock billionaires have incomes in the millions annually.

They think that they can add say $10 billion to their stock wealth by say paying say $10 million more annually in income tax.

But Amendment XVI has done away with the Constitution’s state population apportionment for federal direct taxation for over 100 years.

Federal wealth taxation is possible.

The federal government could levy a 10% annual wealth tax on billionaires with a wealth of over $5 billion.

As the upper classes found out after WW2, national governments can take most everything.

As one Beatle wrote, “19 for me, 1 for you, I’m the taxman, be thankful I don’t take it all.”

This is such an excellent idea. Here is how you implement it:

1. Dems will be required to re-register as Democrats.

2. When signing up as Democrats they will also sign up for the new Universal Basic Income Tax which is 10% of Gross Income that comes right off the top and is not deductible when paying their normal income tax.

This plan will be universally endorsed by Democrats everywhere. Those heartless Republicans will be exempt. Only the Dems will be allowed that deep seated pleasure of knowing they are doing the right thing for those unemployed forever 25 year old Muslim Immigrants and other needy folk like them.

Guaranteed Basic Income - you can track how well that has worked in the US in modern times. Indian reservations well there’s a success story, inner city another successful implementation, now building on the roaring success of those two we are doing it to rural America.

What the goal is not sociopathic dysfunctional behavior in these groups?

Now imagine a majority population that way!
There’s a recipe for domestic tranquility!

People don’t have to live in cities or suburbs.

There are shovels. My uncle Tom dug the basement for my grandmother’s house by hand.

My uncle Tom built three houses for my grandmother.

There are stones for stone houses in many parts of the US.

The poor might find many such stones while digging.

Then there are trees. A large saw blade can make 2 by 4s and more.

Lovely flowers can be grown from seed.

There a ~$20 trillion national debt to be taken care of.

There also a lot of badly underfunded pension promises in Illinois and elsewhere.

We can’t pay what we’ve already promised.

However, the “leftist” and his fellow travelers could make female RINO senators very happy by funding Medicaid in Maine and Alaska.

“Well, look at all the poor people who, through no fault of their own, are gonna be rendered unemployed because of automation”

I have 5/8ths of an acre that unfortunately requires a fair amount of work.

They still have tens of million of Chinese doing factory work.

Don’t worry, Mark. Industrious people will always have ideas to create income. If they don’t, they’ll just steal someone else’s idea like you did.

why work?..why obey laws?....why save money?...

this country started down the hill for many reasons, but one of them was work has been made almost meaningless, if one can exist, and get free money, free food, free phones, free summer camps, free health care, free housing....

we the workers are fools...

unless you make really big money with early retirement and health care, we're treading water out here in the middle...
