It seems fine at the source.
Perhaps the poster is either illiterate or a bit too eager.

There a ~$20 trillion national debt to be taken care of.

There also a lot of badly underfunded pension promises in Illinois and elsewhere.

We can’t pay what we’ve already promised.

However, the “leftist” and his fellow travelers could make female RINO senators very happy by funding Medicaid in Maine and Alaska.

This is a great idea. Facebook, Amazon, Apple and the Soros Foundation can pay those salaries out.

“The difference between seeing government welfare as something owed to you and accepting private charity only because you need it to get through a rough patch is huge. I feel sorry for the hopeless kids raised in families that think welfare is okay.”

Well said! I’ll add this: If something YOU think is a RIGHT, and someone ELSE is PAYING for it...it isn’t a RIGHT!

Apply that to food, housing, health insurance, an 0bamaphone, etc. Those are NOT RIGHTS.

We are SO off-track as a Society, and have been for waaaaay too long.

The Christian work ethic. It’s one of the reasons why Marxist liberal progressives hate Christianity:

Study Bible
2 Thessalonians 3:10

Warning against Irresponsibility

...9Not that we lack this right, but we wanted to offer ourselves as an example for you to imitate. 10For even while we were with you, we gave you this command: “If anyone is unwilling to work, he shall not eat.” 11Yet we hear that some of you are leading undisciplined lives and accomplishing nothing but being busybodies.…

“Well, look at all the poor people who, through no fault of their own, are gonna be rendered unemployed because of automation”

I have 5/8ths of an acre that unfortunately requires a fair amount of work.

They still have tens of million of Chinese doing factory work.

The poster? I copied the exact title from Rush's site.

The Rush Limbaugh show

Now go to the link and scroll down until you find the article.

*hint* It's the first article and shows Zuckerberg's visage (provided you know what visage means.

What’s the difference? They could sit around and get drunk all day too.

If you examine the life expectancy when SS was initiated it was less than the minimum age of 65 for SS, so the majority never made it to the point where they could collect.

Today that age would be about 81 years.

As a corollary to that, blacks of either sex wouldn’t draw a dime based on life expectancy at the time

Trouble is Jim for some people standing in a line for a welfare check IS work. End welfare. Our parents didn’t have it. They survived. That would solve a raft of problems, like illegal aliens coming here to game the system.

Someone that did physical work all his or her life could never work that long, but since the Congress critters in DC never did any hard work, is it any wonder they stay in office for 3, 4, or 5 decades? Sometimes even longer

At least people pay into SS, so that should be fixed before even talking about a basic income for doing nothing.

Don’t worry, Mark. Industrious people will always have ideas to create income. If they don’t, they’ll just steal someone else’s idea like you did.

why work?..why obey laws?....why save money?...

this country started down the hill for many reasons, but one of them was work has been made almost meaningless, if one can exist, and get free money, free food, free phones, free summer camps, free health care, free housing....

we the workers are fools...

unless you make really big money with early retirement and health care, we're treading water out here in the middle...

I for one would basically love to have Zuckerberg's income.

I wish everybody could.

"They think that they can add say $10 billion to their stock wealth by say paying say $10 million more annually in income tax."

Really? You don't say!

Impossible to have Universal Basic Income guaranteed by a government that is 20 Trillion in debt. What the progressives have given us is Universal Basic Debt. It is all they are good for

Come on Zuck. $13k/year is not near a working livable income. Let’s approximate it around Seattle’s minimum wage and call it 30k/year.

Really 100% of Americans should fall in the top 10% of income earners. *(Probably makes sense to many libs)
