The fire-generated vertical and horizontal wind shear from a significant fire would toss a gas-filled airship into the (burning) weeds.

They would have to be cautious around major fires, and it would be fairly easy to avoid heat columns using panoramic infrared cameras. This being said, they can perform other roles like raining out fuel in the direction of travel of the fire, slowing it down substantially, dropping foam on buildings, and raining on things like grass and scrub instead of forests with firestorms.

Lots of possibilities, for example, aluminum airships.
