The condition for which Senator John McCain had surgery on Friday may be more serious than initial descriptions have implied, and it may delay his return to Washington by at least a week or two, medical experts said on Sunday.
Usually, a blood clot in this area would be a very concerning issue, said Dr. Nrupen Baxi, an assistant professor of neurosurgery at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City.
He added, The recovery time from a craniotomy is usually a few weeks at least a week or two.
A statement from the Mayo Clinic Hospital said that the senator was recovering well and in good spirits at home, and that tissue pathology reports would come back in several days.

Just replace the robodic jackass’ batteries
If the NYT is reporting it, you can know that they are afraid.
I despise Senator McCain. I wish him well and hope he recovers fully from his present medical problem.
ps
My brother was a “Phantom Fixer” in Vietnam. He did the electronics on F4s for those brave pilots. A few of his guys were shot down and enjoyed the “luxury” of the Hanoi Hilton.
After the war he meet of few of the pilots that he worked on their aircraft. An exact quote from him was that “many of them were F ed up mentally” after their horrid torture and imprisonment in Hanoi.
John McCain was singled out for brutal treatment as his father was Commander in Chief of the Pacific Command. Senator John McCain is F ed up due to what was done to him. Forgive him but do not admire Senator McCain. Admire Captain McCain the pilot.
I heard the scan found a Vacancy sign.
“...feisty as ever.. blah blah blah.”
****************************************************
And the good “patriot” Senator McCain returning will probably be blahing and babbling every bit as incoherently as he was in his last appearance struggling to put words together in the Senate panel where he struggled to ask a meaningful question.
They make Airlines Pilots Retire @ 65. Good, it is good for them it is good for the Senate. Their is a top Doctor in the MI who is No.1 in his field, I heard he gave up surgery and is now teaching only as when you reach 72ish the hands aren't as steady anymore.
65, 72, somewhere in between, if it is good for careers with lives in their hands, it is good enough for the Senate.
Bye Bye, Dossier Boy
I’m not going to say what you were not going to say.
I haven’t had a post deleted for some time now so gonna just not say it.
Poor thing shouldn’t take any chances with his health. Stay home and recuperate for the next 20 years.
Would McCain let an 81 yo surgeon operate on him?
He probably wouldn’t trust the motor skills. Yet we literally allow these people to LEGISLATE to us, and some of them are clearly addled.
The pic of McCain slapping his head at a townhall might be a clue as to how he got a blood clot! J/k, sounds like there are implied concerns of whether this could be a tumor/metastasis that bled.
Surgeons who retire due to hands no longer being steady enough are still possessed of clinical knowledge and judgement, therefore can teach. I’m not in favor of age limits for professions except where the body itself is required to be in top condition.
You’ve said it better than I could!
I’m going to follow my grandmother’s advice and not say anything at all, but that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy the mean posts on this thread.
Move on, McQuueg is just one more no vote for President Trump’s agenda.
Assumption being that they have 49 votes for Trumpcare. They'll hold up business in the Senate.
well, if the NY Slimes is worried about their favorite “republican”, it must be serious.
“Cranial screw top....”
Many in this forum are biting their lips.
It’s not brain surgery after all.
Oops, it is.
