I am, however, of the opinion that this awful law has to be clawed back bit by bit every chance we get, any chance we get. A slightly less awful obamacare is better than a fully awful obamacare and it gives conservatives motivation to finish the job once the waters in the swamp are finally low enough. DC got awful one bit at a time by people who were willing to take what they could get and hang on until they could gain more power. It will have to get less awful in the same manner.

(C) motivation? BWAHAHAHHAHAahahahah *gasp* ‘finish the job’ hahahahahaha....Please, please stop!!

I’d LOVE for someone to show me the ‘1/2 loaf’ theorem in practice w/ ‘(C)\(R)’ results. Seems to work great on the (D)\Socialist side of the equation though.

How’d that work out, 40 yrs ago, for Reagan? The border wall (pre-Trump)? DoEd? PP? NEA? Dreamers?

Then explain how the 1/2-loaf works while (R) pass their OWN Socialist h’care bill, gave us NSA, TSA, NCLB, Part-D, etc.

I don’t think Mr. Trump is too worried about it. If they don’t pass it the conservatives are going to be on their @SSSES next spring in primary season. And the system is going to fail.

Regan got screwed on immigration, but he got the tax cuts that drove the economic growth in the 1980's and early 1990's. Half a loaf, as you said.

I don't particularly like it, but this is the reality: there are noy, nor will there ever be, 51 solidly conservative senators in office at the same time while we are alive. There will always be a Lisa Murkowski, a Susan Collins, or a John McCain fouling up the grand conservative plan. You can cheer for ideological purity or nothing, or you can focus on the real of the possible and root for the conservatives to play it as shrewdly as they can.

It's only a matter of time before establishment democrats realize identity politics is a losing game and join up with establishment Republicans to form a "centrist" party of ever expanding government without the sharp edges and controversial positions. Luckily for us, the democrats are still stuck on purity regarding abortion.

If you are rooting for an Article V convention of the states, or aimed revolution to fix everything, that's one thing. I'm not,
