Collab efforts are always a tricky thing, a song can be tough enough but a whole project? They can be nearly impossible sometimes. So when a group such as Jamtown-consisting of Cisco Adler, Donavon Frankenreiter and G.Love get together, it can be a special thing. With a group as talented and as storied as these three, you know the effort will good.

The group brings together a plethora of styles and genres into some easygoing hits, with roots in surf rock, pop/reggae, hip hop, and some folksy harmonica playing all entering the fray. All these ingredients come together to give you one of the most laid-back summer songs you’ll hear maybe ever, “Pick It Up.” Some soft guitar and smooth vocals provide a laid back vibe, as some simplistic drums and twangy guitars add some texture to the song, and a laid back guitar solo lets the song ride out. It’s the only song you’ll need when you’re riding around, windows down on a summer night just as the sun has set.

Wow...what a fantastic song. Strong echoes of Dickey Betts (son Duane plays) and the Allman Brothers. This is addictive. Takes me back to '69 to Blue Sky and Melissa.

As if the trio of Donovan Frankenreiter, G. Love, and Cisco Adler -- collectively known as Jamtown -- isn't enough to get your attention, the band has just recruited two of music's best guitarists for a new tune from their forthcoming self-titled debut EP.

Robert Randolph and Duane Betts (son of Dickey Betts) join the trio on "Pick It Up," a harmony heavy love song made all the more affecting by Randolph's ethereal pedal steel. “['Pick It Up'] is the ultimate engagement song, with two amazing guitar slingers, Robert Randolph and Duane Betts," Frankenreiter says. "It's one of my favorite love songs that I have ever been a part of and one of my favorites to play live.”

All three members of Jamtown are known for their previous solo efforts -- Frankenreiter for his breezy surf-inspired roots pop, G. Love for an infectious take on world-infused jams, and Adler for both his work as a songwriter and his work as a producer. The trio first joined forces musically in late 2016.
