The Kingdom of Sikkim, a beautiful place. Gangtok is in the foothills of the Himalayas with 100’+ bamboo all over. It’s wedged between the Kingdom of Bhutan, Nepal and China.
The bulk of China’s military modernization $$ has gone to their Air Force and Navy, strategic forces especially.
Their ground forces are talking and thinking about modernizing, but no real efforts have occurred.
In this mountainous region, with limited access, the Indians might whoop their ass.

If China isn’t careful they’re going to get some nukes into their major cities from India and then vice-versa.
Maybe they think that annexing their way to the Indian Ocean is worth the risk. I just don’t see India wanting to be ruled by foreigners again and I think they’d go nuclear if their options were reduced to any form of foreign rule.
