We currently have a little over 400,000 registered users. The account number started at 1 and is bumped by 1 each time we get a new registered user. Our newest registrant as of this morning has account number 419313.
And, according to google analytics, we’re currently getting something less than 70,000 active users per day. That number is significantly down from our highs of twice that amount. And we’re now delivering less than 800,000 page views per day which is also down significantly. These numbers peak much higher on big news days or during election cycles.
We currently have a little less than 700 monthlies at an average of $18 per month each. If my math is correct, if we could get 1600 monthly donors at that same average, we wouldn’t need to do fundraisers at all. And we do have that many donors, but, obviously, they’re not all signed up as monthlies.
In other words, if only 3% of our active users would donate on a regular monthly basis, we’d be in fat city.
But I can understand our users not wanting us to get fat.
Just for the sake of argument let's say it's way less, say...40,000 active users. Then, let's say that a measly 5 percent (2000) of them were willing to be regular monthly donors. Keeping this hypothetical scenario going, assume that each of them could only donate $15/month (50¢/day). That would still bring in $90,000 per quarter, and there would be no need for FReepathons.
That wouldn't make us fat, but it sure would relieve the pressure. Praying that more FReepers will join in.
