With the finances of disgraced Fyre Festival concert promoter Billy McFarland being questioned, major investors in the concert-turned-fiasco are facing unexpected scrutiny and potential liability for the money lost.
Unpaid vendors, employees and attendees of the Bahamas concert that was canceled before it began have filed 11 civil lawsuits, which include six class actions and five private suits, and all will be seeking damages....
...McFarland was arrested in New York on June 30 and released on $300,000 bail the next day. The 25-year-old entrepreneur was represented by a public defender at the bail hearing, but has since retained Boies Schiller Flexner, and partner Randall Jack is set to lead the defense team.

rofl, their promo vid said it would be “on the boundaries of the impossible” .... alas, they managed to go beyond, straight into the impossible (or at least the incompetent).
The project wasn’t complete. If they’d managed to isolate the island for a few more days cannibalism would have set in. It costs a lot of money to set up an experiment like that.
Yes, it really should have gone for the entire “Lord of the Flies” experience.... they started rescuing people much too soon!

I cannot explain how or why the bros running this festival ignored every warning sign they were given along the way. The writing was on the wall. I saw it firsthand six weeks ago. They overlooked so many very basic things. And baby, they forgot to make me sign an NDA.
