I was responding to the suggestion that Trump say he wasn’t interested in the oppo research, by pointing out that his emails explicitly say he was in fact interested.
As far as any illegality, that remains to be seen, but this clearly shows that Jr. has been lying for the past year about not having any campaign contact with representatives of the Russian government. That Jared attended the meeting, which we finally now know was explicitly about trying to get dirt on Hillary from the Russian government, does not bode well for him and his continued White House employment (no one but Mueller gives much of a crap about Manafort any more).
But the lawyer explicitly said she was NOT Ffiliated with the Russian government. And what DIFFERENCE does it make if Trump said he wasn’t interested in oppo research? I never heard that before anyway.
