Lousy reporting and writing. Was she being denied her right to carry? I can see a lawsuit over being denied the right to carry. But I don’t see a lawsuit to remove metal detectors. Is there a law in MI disallowing metal detectors?

If I worked for the gobermint I would carry AND support security screening.

“Deldin acknowledged that government functions operated in the renovated, former bank building do not fit the definition under state law as a weapons-free zone. They expected weapons-free designation could be successfully challenged in court.

“We felt when we put it in, even though we knew it was not protected by law, let’s err on the side of caution for employees and by the public that use that building,” Deldin said.”

Ammo Land just adds a bunch of extraneous stuff. This isn’t about metal detectors and guards. Thought the writer never says it I an guessing she didn’t sue to have them removed but sued because she was being denied her right to carry.

She won but I am also guessing that the metal detector and guards could have stayed.

If you’re not allowed to exclude certain metal objects which go bang, what purpose do metal detectors serve? To regulate...spoons?

If the courthouse is not allowed to exclude weapons, it has no need to spend one taxpayer’s dime to detect them.

Lousy reporting and writing.

Par for the course with the Macomb Daily. It's poorly written leftwing fishwrap at it's best. I can't believe it's still in print.
