A first class passenger has been accused assaulting an attendant on a Delta Airlines flight from Seattle to Beijing, and reportedly had to be subdued using wine bottles to hit him on the head.
The plane turned round and returned to Seattle after the 23-year-old man, whose name has not been released, was said to have tried to open an emergency exit door 45 minuted into the journey.
After an attendant tried to stop him he reportedly threw a punch.
Another passenger told KIRO 7 News: "They broke two bottles of wine on his head. I tried to choke him and he just threw me off like a rag doll."
Passengers helped restrain the man until the plane landed, said Perry Cooper, a spokesman for Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

The Airplane franchise is begging for another sequel.
Is there not a mechanical assist when the level is pulled, thereby making it possible for one nut to open it? Also, how was it possible for D.B. Cooper to do it?

D.B. Cooper made the pilots fly the plane below 10,000 feet, unpressurized, and he dropped the aft air stairs.

Probably even more importantly, the door are all “plug doors, which have to be brought inward, turned 90 degrees then pushed outward through the hole into which they are fitted. The lock pins just keep the door from being able to be moved inward.
WOW! That's like Gov Chris Christy in his beach wear leaning against the door, while you're trying to open it.
This sort of thing is why I now keep a couple of HVAC flex duct straps in my carry on backpack. Think giant zip ties.
I guess the big question is whether he survived lived out his life in some remote part of the world.

That’s what I was thinking when I read the story. Knowing the attitudes of American air passengers, he’s lucking he wasn’t killed by the passengers.

They should have a fake door that leads into a separate chamber with an outside door. Once the first door pressurizes and seals then release the second door.
Voila! The person who wanted off the plane in mid flight gets his wish!
