Southwest Syria means nothing to us of the main issues which are in the north and northeast. The main component of US supported groups are the Kurds in the northeast. The biggest fighting going on in the southwest is the Shiites, Assad and Russians against the Sunni ISIS.
It appears the Kurds are in a prime position in the Raqqa zone to take most of the territory easy of the Euphrates.
