FORT HUACHUCA — The U.S. Army Intelligence Center of Excellence and Fort Huachuca host a change of command ceremony 7:30 a.m., July 14, on Brown Parade Field here between Maj. Gen. Scott D. Berrier, outgoing commanding general, and Maj. Gen. Robert P. Walters Jr., incoming commander.
The host of the ceremony and reviewing officer will be Lt. Gen. Michael D. Lundy, Commanding General, U.S. Army Combined Arms Center and Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
Maj. Gen. Walters' previous assignment was as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence for the Resolute Support Mission, North Atlantic Treaty Organization and the Director for Intelligence, U.S. Forces-Afghanistan Operation Freedom's Sentinel.
Maj. Gen. Berrier is moving to an assignment as the Military Deputy to the Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, Washington, D.C.
The public is invited to join Fort Huachuca in celebrating this colorful military tradition.
Motorists should expect disruptions in the flow of traffic and parking during the rehearsal and the ceremony. All attendees are also asked to disable their car alarms for the ceremony to prevent them from going off when the cannons are fired to render honors.
