Acosta also questioned the president's claim that it was "three or four" intelligence agencies that determined Russia was attempting to influence the 2016 election, not "17 intelligence agencies" as the New York Times erroneously reported.
"Where does that number come from?" Acosta wondered about the "three or four" figure.

Typical circular reference. Get 1 or 3 agencies to report something get the others on board to reach the same conclusion using the original report and voila!, 17 agencies. They do the same thing with news reports; NYT, WaPo report something, other fish wraps report it based on the original article and then they claim consensus based on the original state media article.
Not 3 agencies. Three Obama appointees. Who were illegally surveilling Trump.
Maybe they need to put the crack investigative team that found a Redditer overnight on the case. After all they’ve been looking for Russia-Trump collusion for a year and still haven’t found anything...
Just wait till DJT gets hold of this. CNN better hurry up with it’s “correction.”
“Why is it that we Deplorables know that the number was FOUR agencies, as per the NYT correction last week, but Acosta doesnt know this?”
He knows. They all know. They also know their base constituency will believe the lie and will never hear the retraction. These people are not stupid, they are just egotistical a$$holes.
This has always been the dumbest claim ever. The 17 agencies comprising the US intelligence community include entities such as: DEA Office of National Security Intelligence; Department of the Treasury Office of Intelligence and Analysis; Department of Energy Office of Intelligence and Counterintelligence;
National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency; National Reconnaissance Office; Air Force Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance; Army Military Intelligence; Office of Naval Intelligence; Marine Corps Intelligence; and Coast Guard Intelligence. Even an utter moron would realize that the agencies I just listed have zero involvement in making determinations of this kind.
17 agency’s are 16 too many.
I remember her spewing this crap in the 3rd debate... I thought, well I bet this is going to be their "out" should Trump win. And my "gut" was right.
It was nice t really even 3 agencies. As I understand it, it was one guy each from 3 agencies. It was basically 3 guys agreeing with DNI Crapper.
True, and the NYT printed a “correction” not too long ago - buried deeply, of course
So now we know what CNN’s plan for survival is going forward...call everything President Trump says “fake news”...Acosta said it 5 times, calling the President a liar. So instead of reporting the truth, CNN has decided to get into a kid’s game.
I hate this man Acosta...he’s a bold faced liar and they know that they can get away with it in front of the viewers when their is nobody to challenge them.
The NY Times, the Washington Post and even Clapper under oath, said it was not only just 4, but really just 3 agencies. The reason for that is the head of the 4th agency came out publicly and said he never agreed with the findings of the other 3.
Clapper, Brennan and Comey colluded to make these findings...there was never a real investigation.
“but Acosta doesnt know this”
Next time he is at the WH press briefing, Sarah should ask Acosta to name the 17 agencies on camera. Watch him sweat!
When did Jim Acosta stop beating his husband?
Abbot and Costello routine...
They report that intelligence assessment said Russia orchestrated hacking attacks during last years presidential election.. That is not what the assessment said. What it said was that the hacks are consistent with the methods and motivations of Russian-directed efforts. That is NOT the same as saying that Russia is responsible for the hacks. It is the hackers just use the same methods as Russian-directed efforts ( or more accurately - the Russian - directed efforts are using the methods the majority of hackers use worldwide ).
I read both the "report" and the CSV file with their "evidence". There is no evidence at all tying it to Russia. There are a lot of ASSUMPTIONS. They say it is Russian military AND civilian. All the evidence points to Russian civilian and they just include military in it. All their "evidence" is are a few domain names that end in .ru and a list of IP addresses from around the world. 70 percent of those IP addresses are TOR exit points which a majority of the hackers in the world probably use. NOTHING in it points to the Russian government. Another bit of "proof" they use are a list of hacker names. They say that these names are other names used by the Russians. They base this on that they used the same techniques as the "Russians". Well, yeah, every hacker ( and this includes the Russians ) in the world are going to be using the latest techniques, thus they will be using the "same techniques" . That does not make a hacker a Russian agent.
Acosta is a big reason for CNN’s demise.
There are only 16 intelligence agencies in the federal government. The 17th one so much referred to in the media, is the office of the Director of National Intelligence (DNI). It is not considered an intelligence agency itself but basically overseas and coordinates the efforts of the rest of the agencies in the intelligence community.
The 16 agencies include Air Force Intelligence, Army Intelligence, Central Intelligence Agency, Coast Guard Intelligence, Defense Intelligence Agency, Department of Energy, Department of Homeland Security, Department of State, Department of the Treasury, Drug Enforcement Administration, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Marine Corps Intelligence, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, National Reconnaissance Office, National Security Agency, and Navy Intelligence.
Both Trump and you are correct in stating that recently it has been clarified that only three of those actual intelligence agencies concluded that the Russians had tried to interfere with US elections. Not all "17" like the fake news outlets have been claiming since the election.
For CNN's Acosta not to know this means he is so focused in trying to nail Trump for colluding with the Russians, that he can't see what most FReepers and the American people already know. Get out of your CNN bubble Jim!
Thanks for the info...I didn’t think you were refuting anything...:>)
There is actually zero evidence that anything happened because law enforcement was never permitted to examine the servers that were supposedly hacked. The servers were looked at by a private group who has been wrong about Russian hacking more than once in the past. My point is that they did not even have 3 agencies agree to the thing, it was more like 3 guys who belonged to 3 different agencies and they were probably Obama/Crapper lackeys.
Debates are MSM lie-fests.
Like in 2012 when Candy Crowley supported Obama's lie about Benghazi and rebuked Romney.
