I’m shocked at some of the (anonymously posting) FR members who are defending CNN over this.

If they had found his name and reported it, I would not have liked it. But you could make the case that they were entitled to do so under the First Amendment.

But they did not report his name, they blackmailed him into a Soviet-style public apology. And they have made statements that appear to threaten to continue blackmailing him unless he "gets his mind right". Totally out of bounds.
