“The Man Who Invented Email”?
That claim is a fraud. And an easily provable one.

He was awarded a patent for it!!
I used email in the 70’s. It goes back to the 60’s. Perhaps he participated in the development of a particular protocol in the 80’s, but that’s hardly the same as “inventing email”.
working at the University of Medicine and Dentistry New Jersey wrote over 50,000 lines of code to invent the world’s first full-scale electronic emulation of the interoffice, inter-organizational mail system consisting of: Inbox, Outbox, Folders, the Memo, Attachments, etc., naming the program “email,” defining email as we all experience today, for which he received the first Copyright for “Email,” in 1982, from the United States government, officially recognizing him as the inventor of email.

Hey, if he can get Lie-a-watha out of the Senate, he can claim to have invented a cure for the common cold and I don't know that I'd care.
If I refused to vote for every politician who exaggerated about an accomplishment, I would have the cleanest ballot ever submitted.
The man who invented email, indeed.
It’s a free country. If Whitey Warren can claim she’s an American Indian, then East Indian Ayyadurai can claim he invented email. And I can claim I’m the Man in the Moon. But I wouldn’t use that claim as the basis of running for political office.
