Special counselor Robert Mueller added a top New York prosecutor to his team investigating Russian meddling in the 2016 election who also happened to be an official who worked for fired U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrew Goldstein of the Southern District of New York has been selected to join the probe, according to multiple reports late Friday.

Government Hand Out to their pals.Who else gets added to the gravy train ?
That’s one way of disqualifying his testimony.
> Why doesnt Mueller add Hillary to the commission? She has a law degree. <
Ha! I was thinking the same thing. Hillary’s license to practice law was suspended in 2002, due to her failure to complete a continuing education requirement. But that shouldn’t matter to Mueller.
Work?!
CLOSE THIS CRAP DOWN, President Trump!! Or at least AG SESSIONS!!
I wonder if it’s a conflict of interest since Bharara was fired by President Trump and is an outspoken anti-Trumpster.
It is not Preet but one of his prosecutors.
Exactly.
I think you have to consider that the over the top partisan choices are strictly to troll President Trump into firing Mueller. Thereby giving them their Watergate scenario they’ve been yearning for.
I hope Sessions steps up. Hasn’t yet.
The link doesn’t go to the story, but another story about Preet.
Wow. And what you do think ol’ Preet will find? Anything he can dig up or make up against Trump. What a waste of government money hiring this bought and paid-for joker.
I've lost respect for Sessions due to his SILENCE. He needs to start issuing warrants and subpoenas against the DEMON-RAT COUP TEAM.
Ok, I imagine some of y’all are getting it already.
This is not about an investigation.
It is about making the special counsel so odious, so outrageous it will eventually provoke Trump to step in and do something that the media and even the ‘moderates’. Archibald Cox redux...
I think Mr.Trump needs shut this whole thing down. Granted this action has the potential of destroying him politically but his political destruction is 100% assured if he does not.
Absolutely outrageous a Phalanx of disgruntled fired Democrats this is completely unacceptable.
You are mistaken, Trump can indeed fire the Mueller. There is a political risk if he does so, but I think the risk at this point is greater if he does not.
After attending Comey hearing, re-upping Jonah Goldberg @NRO. On whether POTUS asked Comey to drop Flynn investigation, who believes POTUS? (June 8)
Obstruction aside, it's NEVER ok for a POTUS privately to ask an FBI Director to drop a criminal investigation. Extraordinary, wrong & dumb. (june 7)
Art of the Deal? W/draw from Paris Accord but maybe still sell guns to Turkish guards who beat protesters in America (june 2)
When Sessions testifies, someone should ask him if @realDonaldTrump wants to adopt Duterte's killing methods here. (May 23)
Having known him for years, I believe special counsel Mueller is a very good thing. He is one of the best -- independent and no-nonsense. (May 17)
WH "needed the cover of an honorable man [Rosenstein] making an honest case against Comey to disguise its own case" (May 11)
As a matter of math, infinitely more evidence Comey fired for Russia investigation (some) than there is evidence Trump was wiretapped (zero) (May 10)
The idea is to get all these Trump enemies on the boat first, then let them get far enough from shore that it’s impossible to swim back.
