French police have charged a 23-year-old man in southern France for allegedly stealing army rocket launchers and a stock of armor-piercing shells off a freight train, a source close to the case said Saturday.
The theft happened at the end of June as the train traveled between an army logistics base in Miramas near Marseille and another base in Brienne-le-Château, 200 kilometers (125 miles) east of Paris, the source said. Investigators found that the weapons were inside cases that were neither sealed nor secured. [ ]
Authorities quickly identified the alleged perpetrator, an habitual freight train thief who was arrested at his home in Miramas, where the stolen weapons were also found.
Investigators are trying to determine whether the man just happened upon the artillery or if he was specifically trying to get his hands on such weapons.

“... And so, we bid you adieu, until we meet again and the case is solve -ed.”
“23-year-old man”
Should they be giving out that information? It may incite unwarranted acts of retribution against 23-year-old males.
DOES HE HAVE A NAME?
Not accoprding to the article.
It’s not like the French would ever actually use any of it.
“Like new condition, never fired, only dropped once.”
I bet the thief left the boxes and boxes of white “surrender” flags behind.
If it’s dropped, I might be a bit wary of using.
