I have absolutely no idea why so many Persian Jews are members of non-Orthodox synagogues. I assume it's because outside the 'Ashkenazi world there are no "movements" or "branches of Judaism" and everyone goes to the same synagogues wherever they fit on the belief/observance spectrum.
It would still be nice if they attended Torah True shuls, though.
