From what I’ve read, the US contributes 28% of the UN’s peacekeeping budget, so by my back-of-an-envelope math I reckon a $500m cut in that budget means we’d be giving $140m less.
It’s still a good saving but yeah, only part of this budget cut is US money, not all $500m.
