Very amusing. Article II, Section 2: “...and he shall have power to grant reprieves and pardons for offenses against the United States, except in cases of impeachment.”

Trump would resign before conviction...or even impeachment...likely the former. Then Pence could pardon him...as Ford did for Nixon.
But since Trump has committed no impeachable offense, it's all an exercise in Liberal insanity.

Trouble is impeachment is a prerogative of the House. Any grounds can be considered impeachable, including being not very nice. If the Democrats controlled the House he would have been impeached by now for no particular offense.
