Chicago Facing Bankruptcy but Spends Taxpayer $ to Place ‘Real Fake’ Statue in Front of Trump Tower

The city of Chicago is facing bankruptcy due to Democrat Party leadership that has simply destroyed the great American city. But this isn’t stopping the Democrat leadership in Chicago from paying for and placing a statue in front of Trump Tower in Chicago. The statue reads “Real Fake”.

It was reported earlier this week that Chicago is on the verge of bankruptcy. Two years ago Moody’s Investors Service downgraded Chicago’s debt to junk status, now politicians in Chicago are arguing that maybe bankruptcy is not such a bad thing. Chicago currently faces $25 billion in pension promises that it cannot pay.

But this hasn’t stopped the liberal Democrat politicians running the city to place the anti-President Trump statue in front of his building in Chicago. No wonder this city is going bankrupt.

And in their collective wisdom, Chicago dominated Cook County still has separate city and county governments duplicating many, if not all, services. Saner municipalities in similar straits merged the entire county and city into a single unit to save money.

That’s stupid. They should have made one that included the visage of the late Mayor Richard J. Daley, who called Sen. Abraham Ribikoff a “faker” at the 1968 Democratic Convention. Or so he claimed.

When considering the political environment of Chicago, it is always good to keep in mind the Indian stories regarding the origins of its name. One says that it comes from a word meaning “onion field,” for the wild onions that once grew there. Another tells of some Indian hunters who were passing through and asked local tribesman for a good place to hunt. The locals pointed them to a place called “Chicagu”, and the only game the hunters found there was skunks.

I prefer the latter story.
