Actor Jeff Bridges, renowned for his roles as a president in the film "The Contender" and as The Dude in "The Big Lebowski, said he is "rooting" for President Trump as "a human being."
Im rooting for him to do well by our country, Bridges told the Associated Press in an interview published Wednesday.
ADVERTISEMENT Im rooting for him as a human being to do the cool thing," he added, after saying other people who were upset by the election results would be "blatantly out there talking about their disappointments and ridiculing the way President Trump is acting.
Bridges, who supported Hillary Clinton during the 2016 presidential election, told the news outlet that every person has "something different and unique to contribute to society and with different ways of doing it."
His accepting views come after a string of celebrities including comedian Kathy Griffin and actor Johnny Depp, have made violent jokes or allusions to assassinating Trump in recent weeks.

I sat down at a bar in LV intending to order a Jack and coke, and when the bartender asked me what I wanted, as he was holding a bottle of Kailua, I suddenly lighted up and changed my order to a black Russian. This bartender took took exception to this because he was black and thought that’s what changed my mind. I told him it was the Kailua but he just had another bartender wait on me.
These guys are smart.
