Unless we see a STRATEGIC REASON for going to war with Russia over Syria, our default position should be to get out and stay out.
...and if there is a strategic reason, please let us know, since neither Obama, Hillary, or Trump seems in any hurry to do that.
...and no, a bad guy using possibly chemicals is not pretty, but it also is NOT a strategic reason to engage Russia. Nukes are far, far, worse.
