A display only you can see highlights her face and prints her name next to it in crisp block lettering, Terminator-style. Afterward, you'll get an automatically generated transcript of everything the two of you said.

No matter what the topic, she’d always rave about abortion. Examples: A film critique, and she’d lament about all the aborted babies that would never see a movie. A newspaper would get bought by Gannett, and she’d rail about how many dead babies were caused by Gannett’s editorial positions.
You’re much the same. The topic is the future of technology and telecom. Yet here you are, railing about “gangs”.

If I hold a 1 lb weight 1 ft above a table I am performing work.
If two magnets setting n the same table where the repelling force of a magnet is holding a 1 lb weight above the same table, physics will not allow that to be called work. Unless there is new enlightened opinion I don't know about.

In physics, a force is said to do work if, when acting, there is a displacement of the point of application in the direction of the force.
You are doing no work on the weight. Where you are doing work is moving your blood and other chemicals around your insides.
Think of this. Instead of you holding the weight, the weight is placed on a table. How much ‘work’ is the table doing? Zip. Nada.
