The UAE officially has the death penalty for apostasy from Islam, which is its official religion.
There is a difference between allowing churches essentially for its foreigners and allowing Muslims to convert to Christianity.

That is correct!
The UAE has a lot of Indian Orthodox and Roman Catholic Christians, who do much of the work of the Emirates. They all have Churches. The other Churches are for small minorities and/or visitors!
