A better approach might be to provide a list of the “offensive” verses to the students. Tell them the government has forbidden their teaching. That’s why I read a pile of banned books when I was a kid. I had to have a signed note from my mother to check out some of them. Nothing entices curiosity like telling a kid he can’t do something.

Curious reverse psychology. “The government says you must not read [list].” They could try it!!
