There’s pearls and then there’s pigs. If the pigs make it impossible to pass out the pearls, you go where there aren’t any more pigs.

There's something worse going on here. Battle River, Alberta is really in the middle of nowhere in a part of Canada that is far more conservative (culturally and politically) than any northern coastal U.S. city, almost like an extension of North Dakota or Montana(except they are all nuts on healthcare).

It looks like one crank decided to make a big stink and got the bureaucrats involved. If we want to clamp down on both legal and illegal immigration in the U.S., than those who are in Canada will have to find a way to make the few pigs running the joint (think "Animal Farm") to go away. As a learned friend of mine once told me, "You have to remember, Canada never had a Revolution." It makes a difference. In Canada, those for cultural sanity have been silenced, and everyone in the country potentially faces financial ruin or jail if a pervert or a government busybody perceives you speaking sense.

Good Canadians HAVE been laying low. The bad guys are now ferreting out the remainders in rural areas as they have zero tolerance for any dissent.

I suspect in France, Austria, Italy and Switzerland that there are more good people than we know, as they have been effectively silenced for more than a generation, and are not in a position to launch a counter-revolution. What happened in continental Europe is mostly ongoing fallout from the French Revolution.
