Frustrated Democrats hoping to elevate their election fortunes have a resounding message for party leaders: Stop talking so much about Russia.
Democratic leaders have been beating the drum this year over the ongoing probes into the Trump administrations potential ties to Moscow, taking every opportunity to highlight the saga and forcing floor votes designed to uncover any business dealings the president might have with Russian figures.
But rank-and-file Democrats say the Russia-Trump narrative is simply a non-issue with district voters, who are much more worried about bread-and-butter economic concerns like jobs, wages and the cost of education and healthcare.
In the wake of a string of special-election defeats, an increasing number of Democrats are calling for an adjustment in party messaging, one that swings the focus from Russia to the economy. The outcome of the 2018 elections, they say, hinges on how well the Democrats manage that shift.
We can't just talk about Russia because people back in Ohio aren't really talking that much about Russia, about Putin, about Michael Flynn, Rep. Tim Ryan (D-Ohio) told MSNBC Thursday. They're trying to figure out how they're going to make the mortgage payment, how they're going to pay for their kids to go to college, what their energy bill looks like.
And if we don't talk more about their interest than we do about how we're so angry with Donald Trump and everything that's going on, he added, then we're never going to be able to win elections.

No, please, keep up the “Russia, Russia, Russia” stuff. It’s been so effective.
It’s exactly like socialism.
It’s never worked, so try harder.
“But rank-and-file Democrats say the Russia-Trump narrative is simply a non-issue with district voters, who are much more worried about bread-and-butter economic concerns like jobs, wages and the cost of education and healthcare. “
Totally true. but the Dems have no choice but to continue to beat the drums of fake issues since the Dems have no “solutions” for “jobs, wages and the cost of education and healthcare”.
In fact, everything the Dems advocate is actually antithetical to “jobs, wages and the cost of education and healthcare”, so their only hope is to distract the voters and to try to pull the wool over their eyes, at least for those voters who wish to earn a decent living by working. As for the rest of their base, it doesn’t matter what the Dems advocate because that part of the base knows that “Democrat” means “free stuff”.
I noticed this morning when I checked my weather page on CNN,
virtually all articles on RUSSIA were gone. I think there was one, and it was more about obammy. Schumer must have heard about the polls saying viewers were tiring of it and picked up the phone and called Schumer.
Certainly illustrates how the MSM decides what’s “news”.
The media won’t stop, though.
Well it hasn’t been effective.
i meant schumer called zucker.
Too late.

“virtually all articles on RUSSIA were gone.”
“Certainly illustrates how the MSM decides whats news.”
What do you want to bet that we will not be hearing anything more on the Russian issue?
I have also noticed there is almost nothing anymore on the “obstruction” issue.
Gone.

CNN Fake Weather page?
LOL I know, right? It’s actually pretty accurate.
Maybe a new slogan for them. “Hey, at least we get the weather right!”
The Russia Collusion Hoax bubble burst:

The pathetic dossier as it turns out was initially organized by former “journalists” who set up a company called to do DNC opposition research. The political operation has ties to the FBI with McCabe and other intel agencies in this effort.
This is the blowback coming back to haunt the Dems and why they are now desperately trying to turn off the faucet.
Too late.
