An important truth. The battle that needs to be fought is against the high cost of healthcare. Our politicians argue about who will pay the exorbitant costs.
The argument holds our attention because, like the lottery, we think we may hit the jackpot: healthcare paid by someone else.
Reducing the flow of money into the healthcare industry is about as near as you can get to impossible.
The only way I can see to decrease health care costs is to have tort reform. Doctors order way too many tests to protect themselves from malpractice in case they miss something. The cannot be faulted for this in this litigious climate.
Congress will never do that ... they'd rather bankrupt the country first (which may happen).
