Not a good set of choices for us...if they become a state they will add 2 RAT senators and some RAT congressmen; if the take independence they could lease the naval base at Rosey Roads to Russia, China or North Korea...
Keeping them “as is” is safest for now.
Roosevelt Roads is now the Ceiba Airport the military base closed in 2004 as did the one in San Juan and the ranges in Culebra and Vieques. I flew there on a trip back from Culebra when the ferry went into malfunction mode a common occurrence.
