Notice the globalist sugar coating this turd of a development. Mr. Trump and congress better get a hold of this because this is the tip of the iceberg. Another industry is gong to be sucked up by the ChiComs. Boeing is next.
While everyone was distracted Ford stabbed Mr. Trump in the back.
F Ford.
If the VIN (vehicle ID) doesn't start with a '1' don't buy it.

Trump needs to get on this. And yes, he needs to ding them 35%. Just like he said he would.

This is a BETRAYAL as far as I’m concerned! Ford is free to make this type of decision as we are free to no longer choose to buy Ford products.

The tax was for Mexico. Ford had previously announced Focus and C-Max would move from Michigan to Mexico. Now says production to move to China. Unintended consequence of threatening Mexico?

Never, ever,EVER will I buy a car made in China or Mexico.I'll walk first.

How's that for spin: "[Ford] sees no job loss …"
We are supposed to be seeing job gains. We are trying to Make America Great Again! "No job loss" is complete candy ass corporate speak meaning FU.
To: jjotto
The tax was for Mexico I guess Ford is gambling that Trump will be afraid to irritate China at this point in time. I want them to be wrong, but I don't think they are.

Tip of the iceberg for auto manufacturing. How many more industries do we need to lose? Some of the US manufacturing industries lost to globalization:
- Consumer electronics(TVs cell phones PCs etc.)
- Textiles
- Furniture
- Steel
- Shipbuilding
- Tires(still a few domestic manufactures left; Cooper?)
This is just a short list.

Check the VIN, the first character is the country of manufacture. A ‘1’ means made in the USA. Check it out.

It’s also a kind of playing chicken by the auto industry. American auto production shifts more and more to larger, more expensive vehicles. As the next rounds of green requirements go into effect, it will be American workers suffering while the greener vehicles favored by Big Government will be already being produced outside the USA.

There will now be some Toyotas and Hyundais which are more American than Fords. We’re through the looking glass on this one.

They already have massive recalls. The Focus is an unusual Ford as it is a lousy car. Bad transmission and poor fit and finish. Sending it to China will continue and enhance the cars problems.
