I’d already be enraged if my stupid kid was living in my basement.
I think it would be cool if my kid moved back and dug me a basement. Then I could fill it with canned goods.
Not sure that the water table is low enough for a basement here though.
We’ve raised ours to have strong Christian and conservative values and with the attitude that from the day they are born, they should gain a little more independence every day.
Two have moved out and are living on their own. They each left when they were about 20. Number 3 is in college and already working in his field of study, so he’s essentially gone.
Number 4 turns 18 next month. He’s gone for the summer on staff at a Christian camp.
I work from home so I guess I’m the guy living in the basement cause that’s where my office is.

Our college educated youngest lives at home but has a full time job plus a part-time job, just bought a new vehicle with 50% down (her money), has a couple of retirement plans already, pays for her “stuff” except for the small footprint she has here, cooks for us & cleans around the house. She’s saving/looking to buy a house.
I’m fine with her here, and I’m gonna miss her when she’s gone. She’s a good kid...and a good friend.
(As opposed to...my wife’s lib sister & hubby just booting their 35 year old, non-job oriented son out of their home.)
