I do NOT like this. This is influence-peddling, just like the Clintons. Neither one has any official standing with the US government. They have no business negotiating with the Communist Chinese like they were ambassadors.

Neither one has any official standing with the US government. If President Trump says they have standing, they have standing. If you'd look outside the box, you'd see this announcement for what it is, a Yuge public backhand to NKorea

I'm afraid you're wrong. Both husband and wife are officially senior advisors to the president of the United States. Previous presidents have used relatives, boyhood friends and acquaintances in this sort of role, both officially and unofficially. John Kennedy named his brother attorney general and FDR sent a defeated rival around the world as a goodwill ambassador during World War II.
