Certainly it's up for debate, but I think that Carter was merely incompetent. A man in far, far over his head. He did incredible damage to the US, but it was probably unintentional. And, frankly, the country recovered from it.

BO was malignant, and more actively destructive. The country is in a far weaker position than 1976-80, as well, so his damage ran much deeper.

We'll know in a generation or so, if we're able to recover. 4 years of Trump might stop the bleeding, 8 might start a recovery. But, I'll likely not be around to see the end of it.

What Obama has done globally is far more damaging that Carter.... Carter’s incompetence gave us a radical IRAN... and we’re still dealing with that... Obama’s incompetence gave us ISIS and several failed states in the middle east... His foreign Policy will be something that the US is going to have to deal with for generations...
