Looks like Comey is disrupting Gowdy’s planned Kabuki performance.
I had not seen this before and could not find anything posted here on FR.
“Looks like Comey is disrupting Gowdys planned Kabuki performance.”
Hahaha, prepare for STERN words from Trey!
Trey, you, too, for SIX years were as responsible as the Fraud for his crimes against America.
Aside from Gowdy and Cotton in the senate, I don’t recall hearing much from the GOP in defense of Trump.
I grow weary of folks who put more stock into the power of investigations than what the constitution allows for a Congressman to accomplish. Gowdy is OUTSTANDING and I’d bet you my next 10 checks you’d shat yourself if you were on the other end of one of his cases. Folks seem to EXPECT Gowdy to question, indict, try, cast judgement, sentence, transport to prison, turn the key and monitor prisoner. Folks have this twisted vision of what HIS JOB truly is.
He did what was allowed by him under the Constitution. See it was those pesky little detail you failed to mention and that is an Attorney General (who happened to be a Democrat) who would not prosecute. Gowdy brought the scandals to light through his questioning and gave Justice more than what was needed to bring charges.
But we just keep harping Kabuki
Ooooooh Trey Gowdy is mad!
Someone alert the media.
He’s going to comb his hair all stupid and act all outraged for the camera and say a bunch of stuff ooooohhhhh!
We sure are lucky to have Trey “I’m Mad” Gowdy!
Did you notice that it is 3 months old?
Why would Gowdy expect Comey to obey the law? He hasn’t adhered o the law yet. Again why would Gowdy expect Comey , a Democrat, to do something he is incapable of doing?
Uh Oh, Trey can use some serious adjectives when he’s really mad!
Older article. Ping anyway.
Thanks, Ernest_at_the_Beach.
Gowdy: All hat no cattle.
All hat no cattle.
Thank you for pushing back against the hand wringers and pearl clutchers who have nothing of importance to contribute.
Don’t know and don’t care, but the phrase accurately depicts Gowdy.
This hearing is notable, because it is mentioned in the appointment letter from Rosenstein to Mueller. Mueller's assignment is to take certain investigations then open, out of the FBI.
I have been authorized by the Department of Justice [question - who in the DoJ gave this authorization?] to confirm that the FBI, as part of our counterintelligence mission, is investigating the Russian government's efforts to interfere in the 2016 presidential election and that includes investigating the nature of any links between individuals associated with the Trump campaign and the Russian government and whether there was any coordination between the campaign and Russia's efforts. As with any counterintelligence investigation, this will also include an assessment of whether any crimes were committed.Because it is an open ongoing investigation and is classified, I cannot say more about what we are doing and whose conduct we are examining. At the request of congressional leaders, we have taken the extraordinary step in coordination with the Department of Justice of briefing this Congress' leaders, including the leaders of this committee, in a classified setting in detail about the investigation but I can't go into those details here. I know that is extremely frustrating to some folks. I hope you and the American people can understand. The FBI is very careful in how we handle information about our cases and about the people we are investigating.
Congress knows the exact details of the cases Mueller is investigating, and is playing "hide the ball" against the public, in order to advance a coup attempt against President Trump.
Gowdy's grandstanding appears as well. I personally find the transcript more useful to grasp the significance or lack thereof of his questions. One of his questions goes to the criminality of leaking the Flynn phone call with Russian ambassador to the press. This was an FBI leak.
Gowdy also goes after the unmasking activity that revealed the identity of US persons to numerous leakers in the Obama administration.
This is a pretty funny exchange, in light of all the crap flung at Sessions for not disclosing the contents of conversations with President Trump. Comey does it, no outrage. Sessions does it, and hit with the accusation he is stonewalling, and an insinuation he is of covering up wrongdoing.
GOWDY: Did you brief President Obama on -- well, I'll just ask you. Did you brief President Obama on any calls involving Michael Flynn?COMEY: I'm not gonna get into either that particular case that matter, or any conversations I had with the president. So I can't answer that.
I wasn’t thrilled with Gowdy’s Rubio endorsement:
Many conservatives were shocked when Trey Gowdy decided to throw his support to Marco Rubio. Gowdy was on Fox & Friends last week to explain his decision.
No one on the Fox panel asked Gowdy his opinion on Rubios amnesty stance, instead they chose to talk about criticism, Trump and his Benghazi work. Only one in three of those topics is important and even Benghazi has been talked to death as Gowdy has repeatedly said to wait for his report when the investigation is complete.
Gowdys main reason for supporting Rubio seems to be national security, but most all the candidates have agreed thats a huge priority, so there is nothing outstanding about Rubio in that regard. Ted Cruz has spoken often and clearly about his stance on the subject, and all indications say hes much stronger on our security than Rubio is.
Certainly Gowdy is free to support any candidate he chooses, but its disappointing to see that hes not the warrior we thought he was. His Benghazi report will likely be a disappointment too.
[The Benghazi report was a MASSIVE disappointment. Gowdy failed to make any serious effort to get to the bottom of who issued the stand-down command. That was close to the heart of the issue, since it almost certainly cost the lives of two brave American heros, who died expecting the help that never came.]

Trey Gowdy’s anger hasn’t resulted in anyone losing so much as a reserved parking spot in DC.
