It was not just pooing. There were a whole lot more issues. You can now but back then taking a bunch of ROK Marines and putting them on a U.S. LST you were just asking for trouble, and I don't mean bad trouble. The ROK's did not have any of the knowledge of how protocol works on an American warship. At that time they were still basically a land based organization which specialized in beach landings but their area of operations was the Korean peninsula, not the entire world like ours was.

They also did not know how to act in the chow hall and they did not know that you did not drop a cigarette on the deck and leave it there. It was a different time.

Oh, they liked to gamble which is strictly forbidden on a U.S. warship. I think if they could have gotten away with it they would have brought some whores aboard. They were always looking at angle to make money off the U.S. Sailors and Marines.

That was then. The Republic of Korea is a totally different country than it was the first time I went there.
