We can always withdraw our troops, planes and ships from the Korean peninsula. There are other theatres where they’d be useful. I say that as someone who spent two grueling years there defending those people. If they no longer want our help....

That is correct. NO DISCUSSION...

PDT- President ‘Kim’ understand you are afraid the missile launch pads will disrupt some frogs?
SKP’K’- The environmentalists are complaining ..(broke into)
PDT- If that the case, understand we will be ‘leaving’ soon and lets see what the incoming missiles will do to your environment.

Call it a threat, promise or whatever you want, JUST DO IT.

Stop spending money and spilling American blood on people who do not want our help. Bring our troops home then see what happens. Let the South Koreans defend themselves—why should we continue to do this so long after the Korean war? Why? They have become complacent, taking the US for granted in their defense. Enough!

The problem with that move is that it hurts us at the same time. South Korea’s continual unwillingness to face the reality of the situation because of the strong likelihood it would suffer a massive attack in the process, makes dealing with this problem exactly the way we have ever since the hostilities ended there in the 1950’s. But now, Trump is faced with the unacceptable fact of nuclear-capable ICBMs that can hit us. In that context, SK isn’t going to get a “no” vote when we decide it’s time to deal with Kim.
