Exactly. My brother is a lefty who lives in New York city, the liberal cesspool of the east coast. If you can believe it, he has not spoken to my parents or me since the election because we voted for Trump. Thanksgiving, Christmas, News Years, Easter, Mothers day and fathers day, no card nor a call and we were “unfriended” on Facebook. He has completely cut off his entire family.
He was never like that until he moved into Manhattan and got indoctrinated by the left, he didn’t give a damn about politics before then. Leftism IS literally a cult, there is no difference between joining a cult and being a leftist, they are both exactly the same. Truth and logic go right out the window with people like Hillary being the “cult leader”.
Now look on the flip side: WE are not cutting him off, we want him in our lives, me and the rest of my family completely respect other peoples political views and would NEVER cut off people for it, ESPECIALLY our own family, but he has no issue doing so. THAT is the difference between the left and the right. The left is completely militantly intolerant and THAT is causing a huge problem in this country. It’s crazy, it’s like some kind of metal disease going around, some kind of epidemic. Sometimes I wonder if that is true, maybe something put in food or water that makes people completely nuts when it comes to politics?

I have a young, recently wed relative who was “normal” & never spoke of politics on Facebook.
A year ago, she moved to Seattle. She changed and not for the better. She regularly posted pro-Hillary posts, to the dismay of our family.
She believes that Leftists are caring, gentle, loving people while conservatives hate the poor and working people.
She also supports the importation of Muslim migrants & supports gay marriage. Her views are taking a toll on my Aunt, who is her Grandmother. They aren’t as close as they once were.
One thing I can say, she hasn’t become an Antifa type. Not yet anyway. We are still friends on Facebook but I no longer “like” her posts. I love her & still have hope that she can change. After all, she is only in her mid-twenties.
My point is, she never professed those beliefs until she moved to Seattle. I don’t want to offend any freepers from Seattle because there are some good conservatives there. Unfortunately, as a whole, Seattle is overrun with radicals & Communists. I just wish that she could get out of there before she becomes too radical.
