I have zero sympathy for her and wouldnt piss on her if she was on fire... but to me this is an overreach of law.
I agree. The young man died by his own hand, not hers. I understand wanting to punish her for being so cold and vile, but that should not come at the expense of reason. Harsh as it may sound, this is symptomatic of the "it's somebody else's fault" mentality much of our society has embraced in recent times. This precedent, if allowed to stand, will be abused going forward.

If you listen to the judge (this was not a jury trial), you may see it differently.

I also have zero sympathy for her and believe it is an overreach of the law. He chose to ‘obey.’

The young man died by his own hand, not hers. So she was "cold and vile" but fortunately (for her) she didn't break any law.

Brainwashing is real.
Gaslighting describes a dynamic observed in some cases of marital infidelity: "Therapists may contribute to the victim's distress through mislabeling the woman's reactions. [
] The gaslighting behaviors of the spouse provide a recipe for the so-called 'nervous breakdown' for some women [and] suicide in some of the worst situations."[13][10]
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GaslightingJoseph Goebbels showed us that words can be weapons. The old adage, "the pen is mightier than the sword" still holds.
